Yesterday I shot with this lovely family in Barnstaple, Devon. We took some photos in the home and then we went to Instow beach.
We spent 5 hours shooting with baby breaks for feeding and changing, we got a great variety of images with different poses, outfits, and lighting.
I am so happy with how these images came out. You can really feel the love within this family through the pictures and they were a delight to photograph.
There were a trio of storage trunks in the front room which looked very treasure chest like. We took them to the beach with us and shot the above in the dunes.

Facebook is great for getting people interested in current projects and this one is no exception. I have created The Zombie project in collaboration with Red Yeti Photography with which we can be creative with our lighting, practice makeup and styling, have fun with our models and try out different locations. This is a free project to collaborate in so if anyone would like to part just email me and let me know! The above is a photograph of Karl who tagged along with a couple other Zombie wannabes. Karl looks more like a survivor of a zombie attack in this picture which is also what we are trying to capture. We got some great shots which I am really happy with. Below is a picture of Leigh Brooks who gave some fantastic expressions throughout the shoot.
Suzi King is a fashion journalism student studying at southampton university. Suzi is currently studying tiedye as a way to create tshirts. I offered to shoot with Suzi to show off her new creations and we venture off to Braunton Burrows to shoot against the sand dunes. Suzi's designs came out really well and the method to create these tshirts couldn't be simpler. To check out Suzi's Blog click
Here. The image above is a dip dye and the one below is created by twisting the shirt from the middle and wrapping an elastic band around the shirt to seperate where the dye goes before application. Needless to say these shirts are very bright and fun and I'm thinking about placing my order from Suzi today!

As the title suggests I have received 100,000 views on my flickr account! Flickr is an image sharing website and I have been a member for roughly 3/4 years but I am thrilled! Celebrations are in order!

As written in my previous blog post I have started an account with
www.purpleport.com and I am finding the website very useful as a tool to help create contacts and shoot with more people.
Last thursday I shot with a model called Miss Blue Angel in the beautiful surrounds of Bovey Castle, it rained ALOT and we even used the umbrella in a few of the shots.
I brought both the nikon d90 and the nikon d300 and swapped them over for use of the different lenses to keep the sensors dry. I love the depth of field that the nikon 50mm lens gives especially when shooting against textured backgrounds with a close up headshot. See above.
The 50mm lens used with a low aperture, my usual choice is f1.8, gives beautiful bokeh (out of focus circles of light from backgrounds) see below. This gives a lovely depth in portrait images and can be used against leaves of a tree or in night shots with street lights in the background.
I was approached by this model through a casting call on purple port which has received 7 Replies, 6 of which are models who I will be shooting with in the near future. It's exciting to get so many replies from one casting call! All I've got to do now is work on some concepts to make the shoots as interesting and fun as they can be.

If you want to give modelling a go, shoot with me and I'll help you build your purple port portfolio to get you more work and you can charge for modelling when you get good enough! One of my good friends charged £150 for one afternoon, and people pay it!

After watching the walking dead religiously and my partner being a huge zombie film fan we decided to collaborate and create a photo project on zombies. This is our first shot from this project. I cracked out the makeup kit and did my best with what we had and the fake blood we had stored away in our prop box. Creative lighting and a bit of Photoshop retouching later we had this image and ironically missed the first ten minutes of the walking dead to shoot this in the dark!

I've been designing flyers to hand out at merchandising events to potential new customers and so far this is what I have come up with. The only problem is finding somewhere to print them without charging a fortune!
