Some commissioned photographs taken of the band 'Beggars Belief' whilst they practiced in Okehampton last month. This is my favourite style of Photography, black and white, noise, movement blur and lots of bokeh with out of focus backgrounds.

Our latest maternity and family photo shoot in the studio with Ange Royle and her family.
It was a joy to photograph this little family unit together, we got some group shots and then some single photos of Mum who was expecting at the time. We used the dark brown background with the rose crown to help tie in our colour scheme with Mum. Click to see the whole images.
I'm excited to share these photos from a recent new model portfolio shoot taken last week.
This lovely lady is interested in getting into the modeling industry and came to me to help her create a portfolio. All images were taken in my Exeter based studio.

Working with Paul Broomfield for Saatchi and Saatchi's Contemporary Vanitas Exhibition in the Lights of Soho, London.
Photographing Paul's beautiful taxidermy art has been a pleasure over the last few years, at our last photographic session, I was presented with a large box filled with a wonder of curiosities. I was delighted to find out that the piece and my images were going to be a part of the Lights of Soho Contemporary Vanitas exhibition from Saatchi and Saatchi. Here is Paul's description of his latest masterpiece, text taken from his website:
"'Remembrance' contains a 19th century human skull & padlock, antique whale vertebrae, Macaw parrot wing & head. In the detail you'll find red sealing wax, antique engraved sherry glasses, old bone dice and clay marbles. The box itself is covered with water gilt silver leaf burnished using a piece of polished agate, while the inside is verre eglomise with 23 3/4 karat gold leaf. Dimensions of the handmade wooden box are 995mm high x 995mm wide x 300mm deep."
The detail in this piece is beautiful, I highly recommend visiting the exhibition.
Contemporary Vanitas will be on from 26th May – 26th June at Lights of Soho.
This year marks the beginning of my photographic ventures in Europe, after an invitation to join one the best schools photography companies around I couldn't pass up this fabulous offer to explore and work across Europe, including; The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.
My trip included free weekends where I went off and explored the areas we were staying in and I took quite a few images out and about that I would like to share here as well as some of me in various locations. There are some street photography shots, some portraits and some landscape images, I hope you enjoy them.
These are the images that we shot on my Natural Light Photography Workshop on the 9th August 2014. Our fabulous stylist was Ladyc, our models were Nikita Crombie and Candice Peachey. Thanks to everyone who came along and made the day so good.
Each month I enter at least one image into The Guild of Photographers Image of the Month Competition, the 21st of each month is results day. How exciting, I gained four Bronze Bars this month! I entered some food photography images and some baby pictures too and here are some of the award winning images:
I recently sent off my 35mm colour slide film to be processed and printed. When I found the red slip from Mr Postman, I ran excitedly to the post office delivery depot to pick up my little package. I am thrilled with how well the negs and prints have come out, especially considering the film was roughly 10 tens year old! It seems the lovely developers/printers at DSColourlabs have handled my order wonderfully and I can't wait to show off my favourite few pics here. Feel free to leave constructive comments.
I love shooting film, knowing that each shot is precious, you have to get it right to get the best exposure, composition and ultimately the best image in each circumstance. You really have to focus and think whilst you shoot. Digital has allowed the point and shoot attitude, resulting in hours narrowing down images post shoot if you're not selective when capturing. I find my film shots personally have something about them that digital images don't, maybe it's the physical negative and print in hand that makes them more valuable to me.. anyway, enough pondering, here are the pictures;
